Description
The TP4056 Type-C 1A Li-ion Battery Charger Module is a compact charging and protection board designed for single-cell lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries. It provides a convenient USB Type-C input for battery-powered electronics projects and includes dedicated battery and protected output connections.
The actual Chip.pk stock board uses a TC4056A charging IC together with a DW01A protection IC and 8205A dual MOSFET protection stage. The board provides B+ and B− battery connections along with OUT+ and OUT− protected output terminals.
Its integrated protection circuitry helps protect the connected single-cell battery against conditions including overcharge, over-discharge and overcurrent. Two onboard LED indicators provide charging/status indication.
This module is suitable for 18650-based projects, rechargeable portable electronics, DIY battery-powered circuits, embedded projects and other single-cell Li-ion/Li-polymer applications where USB Type-C charging is required.
Important: This module is intended for a single Li-ion/Li-polymer cell (1S). It is not a multi-cell series battery charger.

Applications
This TP4056 charger module can be used in single-cell rechargeable battery projects such as 18650 battery-powered electronics, portable DIY devices, embedded systems, rechargeable sensor projects, small backup-power circuits, prototypes and custom Li-ion/Li-polymer battery projects.
It is particularly useful where a project requires convenient 5V USB Type-C input charging together with onboard single-cell battery protection.
Compatibility
Compatible with rechargeable single-cell (1S) Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries that are suitable for the module's charging parameters.
It can be integrated into Arduino, ESP and other embedded projects as a battery charging/power subsystem where electrically appropriate, but the module itself is not an Arduino-, ESP32- or Raspberry Pi-specific accessory.
Battery suitability, required charging current and load requirements should be checked before use.

FAQs
1.What is the TP4056 Type-C charger module used for?
The TP4056 Type-C charger module is used to charge single-cell Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries from a 5V supply through its USB Type-C input. It is commonly used with suitable 18650 cells and rechargeable electronics projects.
2.Does this TP4056 module have battery protection?
Yes. The actual Chip.pk stock board includes a DW01A protection IC and 8205A dual MOSFET protection stage. This provides protection against conditions including overcharge, over-discharge and overcurrent.
3.What type of USB connector does this TP4056 module use?
This version uses a USB Type-C connector. The Micro USB TP4056 version should be treated as a separate product.
4.Can I use this module with an 18650 battery?
Yes, it can be used with a suitable single-cell 18650 Li-ion battery, provided the battery is compatible with the module's charging parameters.
5.What are B+ and B− on the TP4056 module?
B+ and B− are the battery connection terminals. The positive battery terminal connects to B+, while the negative battery terminal connects to B−.
6.What are OUT+ and OUT− used for?
OUT+ and OUT− are the protected output connections of this version of the board. A suitable load can be connected through these terminals while benefiting from the onboard battery protection circuit.
7.What is the charging current of this module?
This version is configured for charging at up to 1A. The connected battery must be suitable for the selected charging current.
8.Can this module charge multiple Li-ion cells in series?
No. This module is intended for a single-cell (1S) Li-ion or Li-polymer battery. It should not be used as a charger for multi-cell series battery packs.
9.Is this a BMS module?
It includes single-cell battery protection circuitry, but for technical accuracy Chip.pk describes it as a Li-ion battery charger module with protection rather than a multi-cell BMS.
