How It Works
The PMS5003 uses a laser scattering method to detect airborne particulate matter. A built-in fan draws air through the sensing chamber where a laser beam illuminates suspended particles. The scattered light is analyzed by an internal processor to calculate particle concentration levels.
The sensor then transmits PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10 values through its UART interface, allowing microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi to display, log, or upload air quality data to cloud platforms.
