Product Overview

The MPU6050 GY-521 Accelerometer Gyroscope Sensor Module combines a 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope for 6-axis motion sensing. With an I2C digital interface, it can provide acceleration and angular-rate data for robotics, balancing systems, motion detection, orientation sensing and embedded electronics projects.

Description

The MPU6050 GY-521 is a compact motion-sensing module combining a 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope in a single device. Together, the sensors provide six axes of motion data, making the module useful for applications that need to detect movement, acceleration, tilt and rotation.

The MPU6050 communicates digitally through I2C, allowing a microcontroller to obtain accelerometer and gyroscope measurements using only a small number of communication connections. The device also incorporates a Digital Motion Processor (DMP) designed to support motion-processing functions.

The accelerometer provides programmable full-scale ranges of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g and ±16g, while the gyroscope provides programmable ranges of ±250, ±500, ±1000 and ±2000 degrees per second.

The module is widely used for robotics, self-balancing projects, motion tracking, stabilization, orientation-related applications and educational embedded-system development.
