IR Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module for Arduino & ESP32
Product Overview
Detect nearby objects with the IR Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module. Featuring adjustable detection sensitivity and digital output, it is perfect for Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, robotics, automation, and smart vehicle projects.
Description
The IR Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module is a compact and reliable proximity sensor designed for detecting nearby objects without physical contact. It uses an infrared LED transmitter and infrared receiver to identify obstacles by measuring reflected IR light.
The onboard LM393 comparator provides a clean digital output, while the adjustable potentiometer allows users to fine-tune the sensing distance according to project requirements.
Compatible with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, STM32, AVR, PIC, and other microcontrollers, this module is widely used in robotics, line-following robots, obstacle-avoiding robots, smart vehicles, security systems, industrial automation, and educational electronics.
Its compact design, fast response, and simple digital interface make it an excellent choice for beginners, students, hobbyists, and professional embedded system developers.

How It Works
The infrared LED continuously emits infrared light. When an object comes within the sensing range, the light reflects back to the infrared receiver. The onboard LM393 comparator processes the reflected signal and changes the digital output state once the reflection exceeds the sensitivity threshold set by the onboard potentiometer. The module can then trigger actions such as stopping a robot, changing direction, or activating an alarm.
